On 25 August 2011, the ACCC announced that Tank Broker Pty Ltd had given a court enforceable undertaking to the ACCC and paid three infringement notices (totalling $19,800) for failing to prominently state the full price of rainwater tanks.  The impugned conduct occurred between September 2010 and May 2011, during which Tank Broker only referred to the “after rebate” prices for rainwater tanks in their advertisements without stating the full price to be paid by consumers.  Tank Broker also advertised rainwater tank kits for sale, comparing a “now” price with a “was” price even though the savings between the two prices did not exist because there was no genuine deduction in price.  Tank Broker admitted that its conduct was misleading.
