EPA plans to conduct an online consumer survey on insect-repellant product labeling. 76 Fed. Reg. 33,751 (6/09/11). The agency will use the survey results to develop policies about future labeling of insect-repellant products and how best to create other user-friendly consumer information materials.

According to the agency, the one-time, voluntary survey will be used to help consumers make better choices about purchasing and using insect repellants. The survey will seek to determine the types of information consumers want on labels and the best type of efficacy graphics to use based on consumers’ understanding. EPA has submitted an information collection request to the Office of Management and Budget for review and approval. Comments are requested by July 11, 2011
