On April 20, 2010, Senator Landrieu (D-LA) spoke out in favor of coastal states receiving royalties for offshore drilling activities in federal waters off their shores. Earlier this week, Senators Bingaman (D-NM), Dorgan (D-ND), and Rockefeller (D-WV) sent a letter to their colleagues voicing their strong opposition to such revenue sharing. In her statement, Senator Landrieu explained, "if there's no drilling, the interior states get no money," adding that, "there is not going to be any drilling unless there is revenue sharing."
