The Isle of Man has signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) with Botswana. The agreement is the first TIEA between the Isle of Man and a Southern African Development Community (SADC) country. The Isle of Man is currently negotiating TIEAs with six other SADC countries. In total, the Isle of Man has signed 28 TIEAs and ten Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs) that meet the OECD international standard on tax co-operation and transparency.
In addition, the Isle of Man’s TIEA with Argentina recently entered into force. The TIEA covers taxes on income or profit and value-added tax (VAT) in the Isle of Man, and income tax, VAT, personal assets tax, and the tax on presumptive minimum income in the Argentine Republic.
