Interim phase of pensions dashboard project announced by ABI

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has announced in a recent press release that they plan to establish and lead the interim phase of the pensions dashboard project. The Government aims to make the dashboard available to the public by 2019.

A press release has been published by the European Parliament which announces the result of their recent vote to adopt a resolution objecting to the revised proposed Delegated Regulation amending the European Commission's list of high-risk third countries under the Fourth Money Laundering Directive (EU) 2015/849 (MLD4).

European Parliament adopts resolution on FinTech

The European Parliament has published a provisional version of the text of their recent resolution on Fintech and the influence of technology on the future of the financial sector. The resolution will be sent to the Council of the EU and the European Commission.

EFTA Court holds national rules and practices applicable to ownership of Norwegian companies must be compatible with freedom of establishment under EEA Agreement

The judgement has been handed down in the case of Netfonds Holding ASA, Netfonds Bank AS and Netfonds Livsforsikring AS v The Norwegian Government (Case E-8/16). The judgement found that EEA may maintain stricter national rules on authorisation provided that they are compatible with freedom of establishment under the EEA Agreement.
