On 26 July the Supreme Court delivered one of the biggest and most wide-ranging employment law judgments of all time. In the case of UNISON v Lord Chancellor, the Supreme Court ruled that employment tribunal fees are unlawful and must go.
The effect of this judgment cannot be overstated. With immediate effect, employment tribunal fees have been abolished. Not only that, but anyone who has brought a claim since 29 July 2013 will be entitled to have their fee fully refunded.
