DECC has issued useful new guidance for UK participants in Joint Implementation (JI) and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects, under the Kyoto Protocol. JI and CDM projects allow protocol countries to obtain credits for reducing emissions in other protocol or non-protocol countries. The guidance notes cover the approval and authorisation requirements at UK and EU level, the appeals process and the issue of credits. DECC also published a list of CDM projects that it has approved since 2004. All of the publications are available through the DECC website.
