On March 7th, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed a securities fraud complaint alleging that Boeing and its current and former executives deceived investors about the status of the Dreamliner aircraft. The Court had previously denied the defendants' motion to dismiss, but since that time it became known that the confidential witness upon whom plaintiffs based their complaint denied personal knowledge of the facts and, in fact, denied being employed by Boeing. It was further revealed that plaintiffs' counsel never met the witness until he was deposed by defendants and never showed the witness the allegations attributed to him.
