On 12 July, a new law was adopted that is almost a full overhaul of the provisions of the technical regulations on fire safety. Specifically, the law stipulates that:

  1. healthcare organisations, social welfare institutions, and facilities must be additionally equipped with special fire alarms, in particular with personal lighting, sound, and vibrating devices; and
  2. these systems must also alert on-duty personnel of an emergency situation, and they must confirm that each person has received the signal.

Additionally, a new provision is to be introduced on the fire safety requirements of manufacturing equipment used in highly flammable and potentially explosive environments. Revisions have also been made to the types of building materials that pose a fire hazard as well as to the list of indicators to consider in assessing the fire hazard of these building materials.
