Ukrainian Deputy Interior Minister, Mr. Serhiy Chernykh, has said the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in 2010 have solved over 2,700 criminal cases linked to illegal operations with land. He said: "Out of the solved crimes, 1,600 were committed in the sphere of service activity, including 259 cases of bribe taking. Out of one hundred of the biggest bribes, half were recorded in the land sector”.

Mr. Chernykh also said that 1,400 officials are being prosecuted for the crimes related to land. and the sum of losses involved in the criminal cases opened has totaled UAH 657 million. The deputy minister also said that over UAH 127 million was reimbursed after criminal cases were closed. Some 1,300 criminal cases on illegal operations with land have been sent to court.
