On January 17, 2018, Acting CFPB Director Mick Mulvaney announced that the CFPB will publish Requests for Information (“RFIs”) in the Federal Register. The RFIs will seek public comment on CFPB “enforcement, supervision, rulemaking, market monitoring, and education activities” in order to gather feedback and suggestions from consumers and covered entities. The first RFI will seek comment on Civil Investigative Demands issued during enforcement investigations.
