The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has scheduled the fifth meeting of its Chronic Hazard Advisory Panel on Phthalates and Phthalate Substitutes for July 25-26, 2011, in Bethesda, Maryland. While the meeting will be open to the public and will be available via live Webcast, the public will not be allowed to participate. According to CPSC, this meeting “will include discussion of the [panel’s] progress in its analysis of potential risks from phthalates and phthalate substitutes.” CPSC charged the panel with studying the effects on children’s health of these chemicals as used in toys and child care articles.
