The minimum entitlement to paid holiday under the Working Time Regulations 1998 increased to 5.6 weeks with effect from 1 April. This is equivalent to 28 days for a worker on a five-day week. Part time workers are entitled to the increased leave on a pro-rata basis. Please see our holiday calculator to work out an employee's minimum statutory entitlement where the holiday year does not begin on 1 April 2009. Employers should ensure that their contracts reflect this increased minimum entitlement.
