A report carried out by Transparency International has revealed that whilst the number of countries enforcing a ban on foreign bribery has increased, twenty countries party to the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention have inadequate enforcement procedures in place. In addition, there are still countries that contribute significantly to the global economy, such as China, India and Russia, that are still not party to the OECD.Transparency International concludes that to make any real progress, more political pressure must be placed on those countries that lag behind in enforcing anti-bribery measures.
