On 12 June 2013, Insurance Ireland (until this month, named the Irish Insurance Federation) published its annual report for 2012. Amongst other matters, the report highlights a number of key issues facing the insurance industry, in which Insurance Ireland was actively engaged. These include the need to (a) engage with the Central Bank of Ireland (the Central Bank) concerning the domestic regulatory regime and (b) increase Ireland's attraction as a headquarters and market for the insurance sector. The report also includes details of certain insurance sector initiatives with which Insurance Ireland has been involved during 2012. These include agreement of insurance-specific anti-money laundering guidance with the Central Bank.
