In July 2010, the AIM Regulation Team published the second issue of Inside AIM, a periodic newsletter designed to keep the AIM adviser community updated on key AIM policy and technical matters. The second edition covers a range of topics including those set out below.
Corporate Governance on AIM
In light of the increased focus on levels of executive pay and the recent publication of the updated UK Corporate Governance Code, the London Stock Exchange (LSE) has taken the opportunity to set out its position on corporate governance for AIM companies. Whilst acknowledging that the UK Corporate Governance Code is a standard to which all public companies should aspire, the LSE's position is that a blanket requirement for AIM companies to "comply or explain" against a particular code is inappropriate, particularly given the nature and range of the companies traded on AIM and the level of regulation already offered by the nomad system.
The remaining topics covered by Inside AIM are:
- Nomad review programme;
- various frequently asked questions;
- investigations and enforcement update; and
- AIM policy matters.
