According to the Associated Press, a senior Obama administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity has said the US is temporarily and reversibly waiving sanctions imposed against Iran's state broadcaster, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (“IRIB”). The US reportedly took this decision after determining that IRIB was not responsible for blocking foreign satellite broadcasts. This action was not part of the easing of sanctions included in the Joint Plan of Action agreed between Iran and the P5+1 powers.
