The President unveiled his 2009 fiscal year budget today. As part of it, the DOE would receive an increase from this year's fiscal budget of about $25 billion. The overall budget provides an increase to nuclear technology, clean coal technology and science programs. Of the $4.7 billion budget, $818 million would go toward coal research. The funds that would have gone towards FutureGen will now be pushed towards multiple carbon capture and storage projects across the country.
