The EU Council has invited COREPER to agree to the European Commission’s legislative proposals to amend the MiFID II Directive and MiFIR with a view to extending by one year their date of application and certain other dates. The Commission submitted its proposals to the Council on 10 February 2016. The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European Central Bank (ECB) have been asked to provide their opinion on the legislative package but have not yet delivered the opinions. ”Lexology is a useful and informative tool. I keep copies of relevant articles and often forward them to colleagues. Although I do not know all of the authors/firms, by reading their articles I do gain an understanding of their appreciation of a topic, and should the need arise I would not hesitate to contact them on those topics.”
