The former Slovenian Prime Minister Mr Janez Jansa has been indicted for allegedly taking bribes in the country’s purchase of armoured vehicles. Mr Jansa strongly denied the charges and stated that they were “unfounded.” Mr Jansa leads the Slovenian Democratic Party and is the most senior politician in Slovenia to be charged with corruption. The former Prime Minister and four other men are suspected of taking 2 million Euro in bribes to help Finnish arms firm Patria win a tender for armoured personnel carriers worth Euro 278 million.
