The FSA has published the second edition of its International Regulatory Outlook.

In this publication the FSA looks at the current discussions on improving regulatory cooperation by the further development of colleges of regulators for the exchange of information and views on the activities and risk profiles of internationally active financial services groups. There are three articles which examine:

  • Whether there is a case for institutional reform in European financial services regulation.
  • How colleges function in day-to-day supervision.
  • How the proposed international colleges might function. This includes a discussion of how ongoing regulatory colleges might differ from crisis-management colleges or cross-border stability groups.

In the final article the FSA looks at the role of credit rating agencies.
