The Supreme Court has announced that it will accept public comments until March 4, 2008, on proposed amendments to the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure, as well as amendments to the Rules of Criminal and Appellate Procedure. The Amendments were originally published on October 15, 2007, and were discussed here. Subsequently, the Court modified the proposed amendments withdrawing proposed amendments to Civ. Rule 33(A)(3) and 36(A) that established “service of both a printed and an electronic copy” as the triggering event for calculating response time for interrogatories and requests for admissions.
In its announcement, the Court indicated that it can revise and file the amendments with the General Assembly prior to May 1, 2008, and the amendments would take effect on July 1, 2008, unless prior to that date the General Assembly adopts a concurrent resolution of disapproval.
