Work Health and Safety Amendment Regulation 2014 (No 1) 2014

Work Health and Safety (Asbestos Awareness Training) Declaration 2014

Guidance Note - Asbestos Awareness Training (WorkSafe ACT)

The WHS Amendment Regulation commenced on 1 July 2014 making a number of amendments to the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011.  The Regulation requires asbestos awareness training to be administered to workers that a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) reasonably believes will work with asbestos or asbestos-containing materials while at work and requires the PCBU to keep training records.  If the PCBU does not comply with the training requirements fines may apply.

The training requirements apply to all construction occupations and WorkSafe ACT has made a Work Health and Safety (Asbestos Awareness Training) Declaration 2014 to extend the operation of the amendments to the occupations listed in the Schedule.
