This Bill has been presented to Parliament and it proposes entitlement to leave for newly disabled employees, or employees whose existing impairments change.

It applies to employees who will be undertaking rehabilitation or retraining or where their employer needs time to make reasonable adjustments. The Bill proposes that an employee will be entitled to bring a claim before an Employment Tribunal where an employer has unreasonably postponed or refused leave and compensation will be awarded.
