On Wednesday, October 1, 2014, the U.S. Department of State will begin accepting electronic applications for the FY‐2016 Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, or “DV lottery”. Applicants must be from an eligible country and must meet basic education or work experience requirements. Qualified applicants must submit applications electronically via the Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs web page for the Diversity Visa Process.

The Department of State advises all applicants to review the application instructions and to apply early during the application window in order to avoid delays or glitches due to high demand in the final days of registration. There is no filing fee to register for the DV Program. No late entries or paper entries are accepted.

Applicants requiring assistance in connection with the DV lottery process should contact their FosterQuan immigration attorney.
