On 18 April 2012, the OFT announced that it has decided to refer the McGill’s £10m completed acquisition of Arriva to the Competition Commission. This is the first time the OFT has referred a bus company to the Competition Commission since a Commission two year investigation concluded last December that competition between bus operators at a local level was important.
