New accounting standards regulations came into force on 1 October which allow parent companies listed on stock exchanges in the US or Japan who wish to relocate to the UK up to four years to convert to using UK GAAP or IFRS for their parent company accounts. These regulations apply to financial years beginning on 1 January 2015 and are due to expire in 2022 and extend the already existing regime which was due to expire at the end of this year. The regulations can be found here.

"I am a regular reader of Lexology, as are a few of my colleagues. I find the email newsfeed useful and of good quality, and in some cases directly on point with issues of concern to the company. It is important to stay current with legal developments, and the articles are a great aid toward this goal. The ability to access the articles without cost is critical and I hope Lexology continues with the good work."
