The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air permit to DKRW Advanced Fuels for a proposed coal-to-liquid plant. The proposed plant would cost $2 billion and produce 21,000 barrels of gasoline per day. Coal-to-liquid processes can be rather carbon-intensive, but this proposed plant would use carbon capture technology to harness its carbon emssions, which DKRW Advanced Fuels would then sell to oil companies for enhanced oil recovery. DKRW Advanced Fuels has applied for federal loans to help with the financing.
