The Draft Domain Regulation applies to all Indonesian entities.
Most of the provisions under the Draft Domain Regulation merely cover procedural matters in connection with the domain registration process and requirements.
In principle, the Draft Domain Regulation aims to regulate and monitor the domain name registry and registrar in Indonesia (including the process for domain name registration). However, there are provisions that may impact foreign individuals/entities having operations in Indonesia. Article 39 of the Draft Domain Regulation provides that all state institutions, business entities and organizations that are domiciled in Indonesia and all foreign entities that operate in Indonesia must use an Indonesian Domain Name (e.g. "co.id", "net.id").
