The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) has published a Consultation Paper on the Extension of the CEBS’s Supervisory Disclosure Framework (CP).

A web based framework for supervisory disclosure (SD) has been implemented at both EU and national levels since 2007. The current SD framework only covers the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) – the legislative provisions and the supervisory application of the rules (e.g. the supervisory review process under Pillar 2) and statistical data on the implementation of the CRD - and disclosures on reporting (COREP/FINREP).

The purpose of this CP, however, is to explore possibilities for developing the common framework and extending it to other areas of community legislation including those that concern:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • Securitisation.
  • Credit risk mitigation.
  • National discretions in Directives 2006/48/EC and 2006/49/EC, national discretions on large exposures in the CRD2.
  • Pillar 2.
  • Pillar 3.

As part of the consultation process, CEBS will conduct a public hearing at its London premises on 5 October 2009. The deadline for comments on the CP is 16 October 2009.
