European Union May 29 2019

On 24 April 2019 the EBA issued its opinion after carrying out an analysis of approaches by the competent authorities (to name but a few: ACPR, BAFIN, Bank of Italy, FCA) across EU Member States, concerning the handling of passport notifications of payment institutions (PIs) and electronic money institutions (EMIs), revealing significant differences in the treatment of activities carried out by PIs and EMIs through agents or distributors in another Member State.
