The Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) has issued guidance to employers to assist with productivity during the 2012 Olympics. ACAS advises employers to consider being flexible with working hours and be clear about what they require of employees in terms of their attendance and performance.  You should start communicating with employees about managing leave and working hours, honestly manage employees' expectations and be fair in responding to requests for time off.

In return, employees who have tickets are advised to book holidays as soon as possible.
