Bulgaria's Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) has fined the local subsidiary of Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company approximately €255,000 for abusing its dominant position in the Bulgaria market for carbonated soft drinks, ice tea, natural juices and nectars. The fine was on foot of a complaint made by local competitors and retails several local competitors that the company had been abusing it position over the 2005-2007 period. In particular, the company was found to have illegally prohibited Bulgarian distributors from trading Coca-Cola products among themselves, obliging distributors to sell products instead to retail stores only.
