A string of immigration raids recently took place across the country at the famous Shere Khan restaurants and premises linked to the chain.
Swoops were carried out by police and immigration service officers triggering 70 arrests.
The people arrested are understood to be employed as waiters and kitchen staff.
Some of the detainees have since been released whilst others have been handed over to the Immigration Service.
Police confirmed that the raids were part of a major investigation into alleged abuse of the immigration system.
Mr. Rafique Awan, who started the restaurant chain, was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to facilitate illegal immigration. His private mansion was searched and documents and computer equipment removed.
Under the immigration rules employers have a responsibility to check that only people with the correct permission to enter the UK and work are offered employment.
There are criminal sanctions for breaching the rules.
