Today, Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry delivered prepared remarks on minority and women inclusion during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. Although the OCC continues to be highly ranked in the "Support for Diversity" category of the "Best Places to Work in the Federal Government" rankings, the federal financial regulatory agencies' Offices of Minority and Women Inclusion identified four key challenges that the OCC is currently working to address. "These challenges relate to recruiting and retaining female bank examiners; encouraging the participation of more Hispanics in non-examiner areas in the organization; elevating more females and minorities into supervisory or higher grade level positions; and supporting the recruitment and retention of more individuals with disabilities."
