The Ontario Attorney General's website now has a helpful summary of comments received so far on the proposal to enact legislation on unclaimed intangibles (a second go at this, after the somewhat misguided statute passed in 1989 but never proclaimed in force and then quietly repealed in 2011).

The comments are usefully broken down by category: property owners (general), property holders (general), property holders (municipalities), property holders (gift cards and prepaid payment cards), not-for-profit sector. The deadline for written submissions on the proposed legislation has been extended from July to September 2013, if you have nothing better to do over the summer.
