American Electric Power Company (AEP) is appealing to the Ohio Supreme Court a decision by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) that confirmed that net-metering customers are entitled to full compensation for the electricity they return to the grid, according to a Columbus Business First article. Net-metering customers generate their own electricity through renewable sources such as solar power, and any excess electricity they generate flows back to the grid, causing their utility meters to run backward and creating a credit against their utility bills.
