On the 29th July 2019, the patent office China's National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) had established in Lhasa, the capital city of the autonomous region of Tibet, started business. This office, which was approved of in 2017, is CNIPA’s 34th patent office in China and has been constructed so as to improve co-operation between the industry watchdog and local government. Additionally, it is hoped that the Lhasa office will aid in stimulating IP protection in the region and better supporting local enterprises.
