The Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 (Transitional and Consequential Provisions) Order 2008 (SI 2008/2683) (the Order) has been published. The Order came into force on 3 November 2008, as part of a series of statutory instruments which have been made to introduce a new two-tier tribunal system under the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007.

These reforms are intended to simplify and improve the running of the many tribunals that have been created over the years, including the Pensions Regulator Tribunal (PRT), which was created under the Pensions Act 2004 to hear cases referred by TPR. However, the transfer of the functions of the PRT into the new tribunal regime is not expected until at least April 2009.
