The snappily-titled "Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) Regulations 2012" come into force today, 22 November 2012.

The new fees (found in Schedule 1, Part 2) are around 15% increases and some of the more commonly used are now as follows (subject to exemptions and exceptions, as before):

* change of use - £385

* erection of a dwellinghouse - £385

* alteration of a dwellinghouse - £172

* certificate of lawfulness - £195

* discharge of a condition - £97
