The first meeting of the SEC's Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies will be held on October 31, 2011, at 9 a.m. at the SEC headquarters. The committee was created to provide a formal mechanism for the SEC to receive advice and recommendations specifically related to privately held small businesses and smaller publicly traded companies.
