Brian Heidelberger recently published a video titled “FTC Updates its FAQs on Endorsements.” This mini law lesson discusses the FTC’s first law enforcement action against individual online influencers for their role in misleading practices. The FTC recently updated its version of The FTC’s Endorsement Guides: What People are Asking, a publication that answers questions about the use of endorsements. The publication includes guidance regarding social media by answering questions relevant to influencers and marketers on topics such as tags in pictures, disclosures in Snapchat and Instagram, the use of hashtags, and disclosure tools built into some platforms.
