Claimant underwent rhinoplasty, at a private clinic, to reduce the width of her nose. Alleged treating surgeon removed too much tissue from the upper border of the septum and failed to fracture the right nasal bone and move it towards the midline. Consequently Claimant suffered from a disfigured nose, with a depression between bridge and tip of the nose. Claimant alleged she suffered moderate to severe chronic adjustment disorder with prolonged symptoms of depression consequent to the injury. Corrective surgery carried out seventeen months later, requiring a graft from behind her ear, largely resolved the deformities.
