James Sassoon as the president of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for a 12-month period from July 2007 to June 2008. Mr. Sassoon is currently the UK Treasury Department's representative for the promotion of the City of London.

The FATF was established by the G7 in 1989 and is an inter-governmental body which develops and promotes national and international policies to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. It currently has 33 members.
