On 14 October 2015, the Intellectual Property Office published the draft Collective Management of Copyright (EU Directive) Regulations 2016 which is designed to implement the EU Directive on the collective management of copyright and multi-territorial licensing of online music (the “Directive“). The Directive introduces minimum requirements that collective management organisations must meet. The draft regulations are accompanied by a  technical review document which gives interested parties the chance to comment on the draft regulation’s suitability and practical implications.  This follows the government consultation on the implementation of the Directive earlier this year. Responses to the review are due by  10 November 2015. More information can be found here.
