The EEOC saw a record number of charges filed in 2009 and anticipates this number to continue to increase in 2010. The Obama administration has increased funding to the EEOC for fiscal year 2010 by $23 million. This means that not only has the volume of charges increased, but that the EEOC has been more aggressive in investigating these charges. The employer's response is critical.
