On the sidelines of the recently-concluded 44th ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Mr. Tan Yih San, Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, and Mr. Ta Quang Minh, Director General of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam. Areas of partnership include:

  • Quality administration and capacity building
  • Technology transfer and commercialization
  • IP valuation
  • Promotion of IP to small and medium enterprises

It is expected that the MOU will see stronger collaborations in promoting IP utilization, and more assistance to businesses seeking IP protection in the Singapore and Vietnam markets.
