The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has issued new safety guidance regarding the manufacture and transportation of fireworks. According to the guidance, all existing PHMSA fireworks approvals that have expiration dates “will expire by the end of 2015.” PHMSA notes that after approvals expire, manufacturers can continue to transport fireworks made before the expiration date, but that the expired approvals do not allow continued manufacture after the expiration date unless either a domestic manufacturer or a foreign manufacturer’s U.S. designated agent applies for renewal.
