The SDPA has published its report "Use by teachers and students of applications that store data in the cloud with systems outside educational platforms." This report is based on a study conducted among schools in collaboration with industry associations to collect data from schools on how they use these types of applications and tools.
The study has gathered information on the use students and teachers make of cloud storage tools, social networks and email outside the educational platforms of centers and at the initiative of teachers.
The report highlights that apps, cloud storage, email or social networks used outside education centers' platforms entails a risk of loss of control over the personal data provided and includes guidelines of how to avoid risks and potential problems and a list of ten recommendations.
Its main objective is to promote data protection through the proper use of applications in schools.
