The Costa Rican Congress is reviewing and discussing Bill 21.185, presented in Congress last December. This bill is related to the strengthening of procedures of the labor inspections. The bill modifies the procedure that establishes the infractions related to labor laws, it also broadens the powers of the inspectors of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and allows the imposition of immediate sanctions to companies.

This Bill is moving fast in Congress as it was presented by a group of different parties in coordination with the Ministry of Labor. It is important for companies to prepare for its approval beforehand.
